NSW Premier’s Bushfire Emergency Citation

The Premier of New South Wales is awarding a Bushfire Emergency Citation to recognise the outstanding contribution of volunteers and service agency personnel who played a significant role in the emergency response effort to combat the 2019-2020 bushfires in NSW.

NSW Premier's Bushfire Emergency Citation

The 2019-2020 bushfires were the worst in the living memory of the state of New South Wales. The catastrophic conditions impacted life, communities, property and the environment on an unprecedented scale. The dedication, selfless actions and sacrifice with which so many responded will not be forgotten. Eligible CFA members will be receiving this special award to recognise their deployment, which consists of:

  • The NSW Premier’s Bushfire Emergency Citation – the insignia of the Citation is a rectangular silver framed navy-blue bar featuring a red stripe to signify the bushfire event, and the NSW State Flower (Waratah)
  • A Letter from the Premier of NSW and a Certificate co-signed by the Premier and Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons
  • An embroidered Commemorative Cap

The NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet is administering the award and CFA has nominated members in accordance with the award criteria.

CFA has recently emailed all nominees to advise of the award. The items will be mailed directly to the members postal address during November this year.

While CFA has aimed to ensure all eligible members are nominated and recognised, there may be gaps in the recorded data.
