NSW Threatened Species Scientific Committee final determinations for July 2026 | News

The NSW Threatened Species Scientific Committee (the Committee) assesses which species are eligible for listing as threatened species.

Four plants have been listed as threatened species.

1. Muehlenbeckia sp. Mt Norman

The subshrub Muehlenbeckia sp. Mt Norman (J.T.Hunter 3847) Makinson, now described as Muehlenbeckia costata K.L.Wilson & Makinson has been delisted from vulnerable species.

Muehlenbeckia costata is restricted to a number of rocky outcrops scattered widely across the New England Tableland of northern New South Wales and southeast Queensland, with 2 outlying sites in the Pilliga and the NSW Central Tablelands near Lithgow.
