The Northern Territory recorded 17 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

16 cases are from Katherine and are linked to the NT outbreak, bringing the total number of cases to 87.

The remaining case arrived on a repatriation flight from Singapore.

1,758 COVID-19 tests were processed across the NT yesterday.

The Chief Health Officer has issued a testing Direction for anyone who has exited the Municipality of Katherine, Binjari and Rockhole in the past 14 days. This means that all people who have visited these locations since Monday 29 November must get tested for COVID-19 within 72 hours.

COVID-19 testing sites are open in Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Nhulunbuy and Darwin. Testing is also available at NT Health clinics in remote communities.

New public exposure sites have been identified. It is important all people in the NT continue to check the COVID-19 website to review the list of NT public exposure sites here.

To reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading in our communities, it is important for everyone to follow all the health directions.

· If you have symptoms, stay away from others and get tested for COVID-19

· Wash your hands with soap and water and use hand sanitiser regularly

· Do not go to work if you feel sick

· Maintain a physical distance of 1.5 metres where possible.
