ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC:

Weather Situation: Instability and warm temperatures ahead of a cold front moving eastwards across the south of the NT will lead to the development of scattered thunderstorms this evening. Strong winds in the upper atmosphere will lend

support to some of these storms becoming severe.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours.

Locations which may be affected include Jervois, Ampilatwatja and Simpson District east of Finke.

2 cm hailstones reported at Alice Springs around 3:50 pm.
