At approximately 5:25am this morning, NT Emergency Service volunteers responded to an incident at the base of The Esplanade in Darwin City, where a 51-year-old man required urgent assistance.
Following reports that a man required specialist rescue assistance, NT Emergency Service deployed its marine and vertical rescue crew to support the operation.
NT Emergency Service volunteers worked with St John Ambulance, NT Fire and Rescue Service and NT Police Force to safely rescue the man. He was transferred to St John Ambulance and significant injuries.
The successful rescue was made possible through the coordinated efforts of multiple first-response agencies, whose crews worked together to carry out a safe and efficient operation in challenging circumstances. The incident highlights the importance of strong partnerships and regular joint training between emergency services, helping to ensure personnel are prepared to respond effectively when every second counts.
