NTES deploy to assist flood response

Northern Territory Emergency Service is sending a team to New South Wales to assist with the flood response.

NTES Director Fleur O’Connor said, “New South Wales SES requested assistance from NTES last night, specifically for storm water damage and chainsaw support.

“Ever ready to help, we have a team of four NTES volunteers from Alice Springs and a staff member from Darwin deploying today to lend the requested assistance.”

The team will leave Alice Springs around lunchtime today to fly to Sydney, and will travel to the Central Hunter region from there. The team expects to be away for five days.

“We have seen successive flood events on the eastern seaboard this year, and with around 50,000 people affected by this event, NTES stand ready to lend a hand when and where we can,” said Ms O’Connor.
