The Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services (NTPFES) celebrates International Day of Women and Girls in Science and recognises their vital role in contributing to our services from within the Forensic Science Branch (FSB).
The United Nations’ recognition of this day aims to promote gender equality and foster the involvement of women and girls in scientific pursuits.
The NTPFES is committed to creating an inclusive environment that encourages, empowers and supports women to thrive in various scientific disciplines within the Forensic Biology Unit, Forensic Chemistry Unit, Forensic Exhibit Unit, Forensic Fingerprint Unit, Digital Forensic Unit and the Crime Scene Examination Unit.
The FSB specialists utilise cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to examine evidence such as DNA, fingerprints, exhibits, chemical and botanical substances and other trace materials, providing critical insights that aid law enforcement in criminal investigations. and fire scene analysis.
