Nyah West Revitilised

Nyah West Shopping Precinct will see the remainder of its revitilising projects come to fruition during the months of April and May this year.

The project, funded by Council and the State of Victoria – Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions via Living Local Regional Grants Program, delivered a new public toilet and opened up the community event space late last year.

Director Development and Planning, Michelle Grainger, said that the next two months would see a long and exciting list of projects get underway.

“Residents can expect to see playground, BBQ area and irrigation upgrades, lighting up of historic tree, and a new drinking fountain” Ms Grainger said.

“In a touching tribute, there will be a creation of memorials for the Rose Brothers who played AFL for Collingwood, and in recognition of Grace Willoughby for her incredible contribution to the local community,”

“Lastly, residents will enjoy seeing Lloyd Post Office beautification works that will consist of paving, installation of pram crossing, tree planting and new seating,”

“This is a really exciting time for Nyah West residents as the projects ideas were developed with the Nyah West Community, principally through the Nyah District Action Group, as part of the masterplan development,” she added.

Nyah West residents should expect some areas to be closed off to the public while works are undertaken, for the duration of the project. Works are anticipated to be completed by the end of May this year.
