As stated by Detective Inspector Lloyd Schmid:
Police can now confirm the identity of the man who died on Saturday morning (2nd October, 2021) following a shooting incident in Avondale.
He was Mars Rakeem, aged 28.
Police are supporting his family during this very distressing time.
The family are grieving and ask for privacy and do not want to be contacted by media.
As previously announced, two people have been charged in relation to this matter and they are currently before the courts.
