Off-Leash Dog Park Expansion Nearing Completion

Dog owners will soon have more space to enjoy with their pets, with the expansion of Griffith’s off-leash dog park nearing completion.

Funded through Griffith City Council’s 2025/26 Budget, the project was approved following community feedback received during the public consultation process and endorsed by Council’s Roads, Parks and Pathways Enhancement Committee.

The expansion adds an additional 1,260 square metres of fenced off-leash space. The existing dividing fence has been retained, allowing the two areas to be separated when required, including during maintenance or to accommodate dogs of different sizes and temperaments.

Final works include kerb extensions, installation of two solar lights, minor improvements to the access gate and two accessible parking spaces.

Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran said the project is another example of Council responding to community feedback.

“Residents told us they wanted more space at the off-leash dog park and we’re pleased to be delivering this improvement,” Mayor Curran said.

“This facility is heavily used at times, and these improvements will help ensure the safety of both dogs and their owners while enhancing the overall experience. The expanded off-leash area, improved access and accessible parking will make the facility more enjoyable and accessible for the community.”
