An officer attached to North West Metropolitan region has been charged with allegedly buying a prohibited weapon.
In February 2025, the Australian Border Force informed NSW Police that a prohibited item had been identified and seized at the Australian Border Force International Mail Facility in Clyde.
Police commenced an investigation after the item was identified as a push knife, allegedly purchased by a 32-year-old male Constable attached to North West Metropolitan Region.
Police executed a search warrant, and the item was seized at the mail facility in Clyde.
Following inquiries, the officer was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for buy prohibited weapon when not authorised to possess it, contrary to section 23(1) Weapons Act 1998.
He will appear before Burwood Local Court on Monday 7 September 2026.
