Officer charged – North West Metropolitan Region 17 January, NSW

A police officer has been charged with several firearm and neglect of duty offences.

Following an internal investigation, the 36-year-old male senior constable who is attached to a command in the North West Metropolitan Region, was issued a Court Attendance Notice for 11 offences just after 10am on Friday (15 January 2021).

The charges include four counts of possess loaded firearm endanger life non-public place, three counts of assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm, and four counts of police officer neglect/refuse/not carry out any lawful order.

The alleged offences occurred while the officer was on-duty at a police station in Sydney’s north west on four separate occasions between August and November 2020.

He is due to appear at Windsor Local Court on Thursday 25 February 2021.

The officer is currently suspended from duty.
