A police officer has been charged over an alleged assault last year.
In March 2022, an investigation was commenced by officers attached to the South West Metropolitan Region in relation to allegations a two-year-old boy was assaulted by a man on Wednesday 29 September 2021.
Following extensive inquiries, a 26-year-old man was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for the offence of assault occasioning actual bodily harm today (Monday 19 December 2022).
The constable – who is attached to a North West Metropolitan Region Command – is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 21 December 2022.
The officer’s employment status is currently under review.
