Officer charged – North-West Metropolitan Region 5 August, NSW

A police officer has been charged following investigations by police in Sydney’s west.

Earlier this year, officers from North-West Metropolitan Region commenced an investigation into reports of an alleged assault at Bligh Park on Friday 18 February 2022 – involving an on-duty police officer.

Following inquiries, a senior constable – attached to a command in the North-West Metropolitan Region – was issued a court attendance notice yesterday (Thursday 4 August 2022).

The officer was charged with three counts of common assault; assault occasioning actual bodily harm and remain on inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse.

They are due to appear at Windsor Local Court on Thursday 15 September 2022.

The officer’s employment status is currently under review.
