A police officer from Southern Region has been charged with possessing child abuse material.
Following an investigation by the Professional Standards Command (PSC), detectives executed a search warrant at a home in Horsley, about 8.15am yesterday (Tuesday 31 March 2020).
They seized a number of electronic and storage devices, which will undergo forensic examination.
A 38-year-old senior constable was arrested at the home and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with one count of access and possess child abuse material.
He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 16 June 2020.
