Officers charged – North West Metropolitan Region & Specialist Command

Two NSW Police officers have been charged with perverting the course of justice.

In July 2021, officers attached to the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad and the Professional Standards Command (PSC) established Strike Force Celadon to investigate reports a nine-month-old baby sustained unexplained, non-accidental injuries.

As part of those inquiries, PSC detectives established Strike Force Gregg to investigate the conduct of two people, known to the child.

Following extensive inquiries, two people – a 38-year-old male senior constable attached to a specialist command and a 37-year-old female senior constable attached to North West Metropolitan Region – were issued court attendance notices on Wednesday (10 May 2023) for two counts each of do act etc intending to pervert the course of justice.

They are both due to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court on Wednesday 21 June 2023.

Inquiries under Strike Force Celadon continue.

The officers’ employment status is currently under review.
