Police were called this morning to an incident at a residential property in Hamilton East.
A one-year-old child was struck by a car on the driveway of the property.
The child suffered serious injuries and was taken at Waikato Hospital.
Police remain at the scene and an investigation has begun into the circumstances of what happened.
Police are offering support to the family involved during this difficult time.
