Online hub a necessary tool to manage bribery and corruption risks

The Bribery Prevention Network’s online hub launched today will make it easier for Australia’s minerals companies and other businesses to access leading practice resources and tools to detect, prevent and address bribery and corruption risks across operations and supply chains.

Hosted by the Global Compact Network Australia, the Bribery Prevention Network brings together ASX-listed businesses, civil society organisations, academia and government; demonstrating the value of collaborative and constructive public-private partnerships.

As well as being unethical, bribery and corruption destroy healthy competition and good business.

Bribery and corruption can also violate trust and undermine healthy relationships and mutually beneficial outcomes between communities, industry and government.

No country is immune from bribery and corruption and all sectors – including the minerals industry – need to remain vigilant.

The MCA looks forward to promoting the Bribery Prevention Network and its activities as part of its work to support responsible business practices across Australia’s minerals industry whether operating within Australia or internationally.
