Two people have been charged in relation to the homicide in Mount Wellington on Saturday afternoon.
Police were called to an incident at a Tomuri Place address just before 1.30pm and located a person with critical injuries.
Tragically, the person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder and a 24-year-old woman has been charged with being a party to murder.
They are due to appear in Auckland District Court on Monday 2 September.
An increased Police presence will remain in the area as the scene examination continues.
A postmortem examination is due to take place this morning.
Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the matter.
