Can I thank everyone for joining us at relatively short notice. As you’re aware, my Cabinet passed a position on Monday for a comprehensive plan to ban social media for under 16. This is what parents want to see around Australia. It’s something that we know is talked about on the sideline of every sporting activity, outside school grounds. And it is something that state Premiers and Chief Ministers have raised with me directly, with Minister Rowland, who’s with me this morning, and with their own constituencies as well. So part of the reason for convening the National Cabinet is to make sure that we have uniformity. We don’t want to see different rules in different jurisdictions, because one of the things that parents are looking for here is clarity. And this is about keeping our young Australians safe. I think it is a very positive initiative that we’ll be looking to get your endorsement today. I have said and committed to introducing legislation before the end of this year, we have two sitting weeks to go. So arising out of today, what we’re hoping to do is to get your endorsement. We’ll also, of course, give you access to the legislation when it is finalised for introduction into the Parliament as well. But I do want to acknowledge as well, the leadership of CAF and the leadership of Premiers and Chief Ministers on this really important social issue that’s confronting Australians.
