As part of Operation Heat Shield, Cannington Detectives targeting high harm volume crime and illicit drugs in their district, executed five search warrants with the assistance of the Tactical Response Group on Saturday, 9 May 2020 and arrested 9 people.
The search warrants were executed at homes in Beckenham, Cannington, East Cannington and Rivervale. During the searches numerous items were seized including:-
• Over $20,000 in cash
• Tasers;
• Handguns;
• Throwing knives;
• OC Spray;
• Counterfeit cash; and
• Various illicit drugs.
Two women and seven men, aged between 18 years and 59 years, have been charged with various offences relating to drugs and weapons and will appear in court in the coming weeks.
