Operation Osso – Darwin

Northern Territory Police, in conjunction with Transit Officers, conducted an operation targeting anti-social behaviour on public transport this week.

Officers from the Alcohol Policing Unit and Social Order Officers travelled on the bus network on Tuesday and Wednesday.

As a result of the operation, 17 people were removed from the bus network, 20 people were taken into protective custody and 10 people were moved on.

Three people were issued with liquor infringement notices, one person was issued with a summary infringement notice and four transit infringements were issued.

Three cautions were issued and 28 litres of alcohol were tipped out.

Police will continue to work with Transit Officers to ensure the public transport system is safe for everyone.
