Organised Crime Squad detectives extradite Queensland man after seizure of $32 million of methylamphetamine

Organised Crime Squad detectives have extradited and charged a man from Queensland following the seizure of 400kg of methylamphetamine with an estimated street value of $32 million, earlier this year.

Strike Force Golporta was established to investigate the alleged criminal activities of a central onshore facilitator believed to be coordinating operations on behalf of an offshore syndicate at the centre of a current OCN conflict.

About 10am on Tuesday 28 April 2026, strike force detectives – with assistance from the Tactical Operations Unit (TOU) – executed a search warrant in Emu Plains.

During the search, police located 39 large buckets and 140 boxes filled with foam and miscellaneous packaging which were consistent with a drug extraction process.

Specialist police from the Drug and Firearms Squad’s Chemical Operations Unit, the Technical Forensic Support Unit and Fire & Rescue NSW were called in to safely process the scene.

It was established that each bucket contained approximately 10kg of methylamphetamine totalling 390kg, with an estimated potential street value of $32 million.

Twelve people have since been charged and remain before the courts.

Following further extensive inquiries, about 1.40pm on Wednesday 7 October 2026, strike force detectives – with assistance from Queensland Police Service officers – stopped a vehicle in Ipswich, Queensland.

A 24-year-old man was arrested and taken to Ipswich Police Station where detectives from State Crime Command’s Organised Crime Squad applied for his extradition to New South Wales.

About 7.45pm yesterday (Thursday 8 October 2026) the 24-year-old was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Local Court 1 today (Friday 9 October 2026).
