Police are investigating after a truck collided with a railway bridge at Brompton.
Police were called to Chief Street, Brompton, just before 11am on Monday 7 September following reports a truck had struck the bridge.
The driver, a 64-year-old Findon man, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for assessment.
The bridge sustained only minor cosmetic damage and was assessed by Department for Infrastructure and Transport personnel at the scene.
Traffic in the area and rail services were disrupted while emergency services attended, the scene was examined and safety assessments were conducted. Both road and rail traffic have since resumed.
The truck was towed from the scene.
Police remind heavy vehicle drivers to remain aware of height restrictions and road conditions and not rely solely on navigation systems when planning their route.
