Fawkner Highway Patrol officers were left shaking their heads, after a probationary driver was allegedly clocked travelling at 149km/h in Airport West last night.
The 20-year-old was pulled over on the Tullamarine Freeway in an 80km/h zone, about 11.45pm.
He was questioned at the scene and his Volkswagen Golf was impounded at a cost of $896.
The Springfield man is expected to be charged on summons with drive at a speed dangerous and dangerous driving.
