Fagan Park in Galston (New South Wales) secured the coveted #1 position, impressing picnickers with its serene ambiance, picturesque international themed gardens, playgrounds, and numerous picnic spots with electric barbecues. This scenic Hornsby Shire parkland is truly deserving of being recognized as Australia’s favorite picnic spot.
Two Victorian parks secured their positions on the winner’s podium: Maroondah Reservoir Park in 2nd, with Yan Yean Reservoir Park rounding out the top 3. Methodology: A Deeper Dive into Australians’ Picnic Preferences
Food Box Mate’s unique approach involved filtering 30,646 potential locations to those with more than 100 reviews, eliminating outliers. The in-depth analysis focused on 3,187 places, scrutinizing 12,564 reviews from the past two years containing the keyword “picnic.”
Factors considered included overall popularity, popularity specifically for picnics, the ratio of picnic reviews to total reviews, and the average rating of picnic reviews.
