Strike Force Vulcan officers are investigating three suspicious palm tree fires that occurred between 7.50pm and 9.30pm in Belmont, Cloverdale and Kewdale last night, 25 January 2020.
The palm trees were in the front garden of homes on Belvidere Street Belmont, Oakland Avenue Cloverdale and Kew Street in Kewdale. In two incidents the occupants of the homes were asleep at the time of the fires.
The fires damaged the palm trees, lawn, power lines and parked vehicles. They fires also had the potential to spread to nearby homes, putting lives at risk.
Investigators wish to speak to anyone who saw any suspicious activity, or has dash-cam vision of the above areas between 8pm and 10pm.
