For more than five decades, the park has welcomed generations of families, school groups and visitors from around the world, creating meaningful connections between people and iconic Australian wildlife.

Today, Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park is home to more than 2,000 Australian native animals across more than 260 species, including over 60 threatened native species. For many visitors, the park is their first opportunity to meet a koala, hand-feed a kangaroo or experience Australian wildlife up close.

To mark its 54th birthday, the park will host the Paws & Claws Birthday Celebration, adding extra activities and birthday fun to a full day of close-up wildlife experiences.

Australian Wildlife Parks Ambassador Zookeeper Chad Staples said the celebration was an opportunity to thank the community for its support and share the occasion with generations of visitors who have grown up with the park.
