PCA charge after crash at Lilyfield, NSW

A man has been charged with drink driving after crashing into a power pole in Sydney’s Inner West.

Emergency services were called about 12.20am (Saturday 6 April 2019), after a Toyota Hilux crashed into a parked vehicle and then a pole on Edna Street, Lilyfield.

As a result of the crash, the pole snapped in half.

The driver, a 23-year-old man, was uninjured, he was subjected to a breath test which returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station where underwent a breath analysis, allegedly returning a reading of .107.

He has been charged with mid-range PCA and negligent driving and is expected to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 3 May 2019.

One male passenger, aged in his 20s, was uninjured. Another, also aged in his 20s, was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment to neck pain.
