Pearces Creek Bridge reopened to traffic: Ballina Shire

Eltham Road has reopened to traffic following a month-long closure for the Pearces Creek Bridge replacement project.

The new two-lane concrete bridge has been installed and is now open. The road approaches have also been upgraded, including drainage and sealing.

Finishing works, including fencing and driveways, will continue until December 2023.

Planting adjacent to the project site will occur in February/March due to the more favourable weather conditions at this time.

Construction of the replacement Pearces Creek Bridge commenced in June 2023. The aging wooden bridge has been replaced with a two-lane, concrete structure that meets the needs of today’s road users.

Due to the upgrade, the reduce load limit introduced earlier this year by Ballina Shire Council and Lismore City Council is no longer necessary and signposting will be removed.

This project has been funded by the NSW Government, Fixing Country Bridges Program and the Federal Government, Bridge Renewal Program.
