Pedestrian crossing for Milan Terrace

Construction of a pedestrian crossing on Milan Terrace, in front of Stirling Private Hospital, will be commencing in early May.

Otherwise known as a ‘Wombat Crossing’, the new crossing will be on top of a wide, flat and elevated road plateau, specifically designed to slow vehicles.
The flat level pedestrian crossing will provide a safer connection for people accessing the hospital, aged care homes and the nearby shopping precinct.
Works will be carried out between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday until construction is completed in June 2020.
Until construction is complete, pedestrians and motorists should be aware of:
  • Temporary reduced speed, lane restrictions and occasional road closures will result in some delays for traffic on Milan Terrace.
  • Access to Stirling Private Hospital will be maintained.
  • Reduced parking in front of Stirling Private Hospital (for the duration of construction).
All vehicles approaching a Wombat Crossing must give way to any pedestrians using the crossing,
