Pedestrian dies after hit by car in Sydney city

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Sydney last week.

Just before 12.30pm on Sunday 28 November 2021, emergency services were called to the intersection of Goulburn and Sussex Streets, following reports of a pedestrian had been hit by a taxi.

The pedestrian – a 68-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene, before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious condition.

The taxi driver – a 66-year-old man – was taken to the same hospital for mandatory testing. He was not injured.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.

This morning (Saturday 11 December 2021), the woman died in hospital.
