Moorabbin Highway Patrol officers are investigating following a collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian in Bentleigh East this afternoon.
Police have been told a woman was crossing Centre Road near Hill Street when she was hit by a blue Ford sedan travelling east on Centre Road about 2.25pm.
The pedestrian, a 66-year-old Bentleigh East woman died at the scene.
The driver, a 58-year-old Bentleigh East man is assisting police with their enquiries.
Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone that has dashcam footage and was in the area at the time of the collision.
