Pedestrian seriously injured after car failed to stop in Narwee

A man has been seriously injured after a car that hit him failed to stop in Sydney’s south overnight.

About 8.45pm (Tuesday 27 July 2021), emergency services attended Grove Avenue at Narwee following reports a man had been hit by a car.

The injured man was thrown to the roadway suffering serious head injuries.

The vehicle stopped, and left the scene not offering assistance to the injured man, and was last travelling on Grove Avenue.

The 31-year-old man was taken to St George Hospital and remains in a critical but stable condition.

A crime scene was established and officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended and commenced inquiries.

Police are now appealing for the driver of a dark coloured vehicle involved in the incident to contact police.

Investigators are also appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dashcam footage, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
