Pedestrian seriously injured after collision in Northbridge

A pedestrian has been seriously injured after a collision in North Sydney this morning.

About 7.10am this morning (Tuesday 26 October 2021), emergency services were called to the intersection Sailors Bay Road and Bligh Street, Northbridge, following reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command and North Shore Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Specialist Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit also attended and are conducting inquiries into the cause of the collision.

The pedestrian – a 56–year–old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics on scene before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious yet stable condition.

The driver – a 65–year–old man – was uninjured and will be taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for mandatory testing.

Sailors Bay road is currently closed in both directions between Bligh Street and Namoi Road.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area as investigations continue and consult Live Traffic NSW for updates.
