Pedestrian struck by bus in Tullamarine

A woman has died after being hit by a bus in Tullamarine this morning (18 July).

It is believed the woman was crossing Mickleham Road at pedestrian lights near the entry ramp to the Tullamarine Freeway, when she was struck by the bus travelling south along Mickleham Road just after 5.30am.

The woman, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The driver of the bus is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

It’s believed there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the incident.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are en route to the scene.

Police wish to speak to the driver of a truck who pulled over and spoke briefly to the bus driver before leaving the scene.
