Peter Krenz pools to close for two weeks for maintenance works

Swimming pools at Eaglehawk’s Peter Krenz Leisure Centre will close to the public for two weeks in July to allow the City of Greater Bendigo to undertake significant general maintenance, cleaning and painting works at the centre.

City of Greater Bendigo Active and Healthy Lifestyles Manager Lincoln Fitzgerald said the centre’s swimming pools will be unavailable for use from Monday July 1 until Monday July 15, 2019 however Health Club members will still have access to gymnasium facilities and group exercise classes.

“This is traditionally the quietest time of the year in terms of patronage and that’s why we have scheduled the works at this time. Members have been informed of the pool closure by the centre’s managers YMCA Victoria.

“The type of work we are planning is really from the top down and can’t be undertaken while people are using the swimming hall.

“Workers will be working at heights to undertake intensive cleaning and painting which could affect water quality during the works period. We are also repairing floors and installing new floor covers so patrons will notice a difference when the work is complete.

“Peter Krenz Leisure Centre is a great asset for the communities of Eaglehawk and the wider north Bendigo areas so it is necessary to maintain and upgrade the building and facilities as required.

“The work is an ongoing investment in the centre and I would like to thank all patrons for their patience while the works are carried out.”
