Phone lines interrupted in Far North, South Australia

Telstra have advised of an interruption to mobile and some landline services affecting Woomera, Coober Pedy, Marla and Roxby Downs between midnight tonight and 6am Thursday 5 December.

Telstra has scheduled this essential work at this time to minimise inconvenience to residents and will be working as quickly as possible to restore services.

If you have no phone service, but are in range of an active NBN internet connection, residents who have a reasonably new mobile phone should be able to make and receive mobile calls by activating a free setting on their phone called WiFi calling.

Calls from satellite phones will not be impacted.

If your phone is not working and you need emergency assistance in these towns, please go to your local police station where emergency services will be located.

In these locations or any other locations, if you have phone service, in an emergency, please ring Triple Zero.
