Piano bar ready to rock Wyndham

Combining excellent service with talented music performances, The Piano Bar will debut in Wyndham next week.

Presented by The Piano Bar Group with support from Wyndham City, ‘Piano Bar Shipped’ will be running as part of the West End Experience between 28 January to 14 February in Werribee.

Starring drag queens, musicians and vocalists ‘Piano Bar Shipped’ is the group’s first performance in Wyndham, following long-standing success in Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong.

The Piano Bar is part of Wyndham City’s Covid-recovery strategy, that includes outdoor dining experiences, parklets and even trials of shared pathways.

Activations and events such as the Summer Symphony and West End Experience are all part of collaborative initiatives to support businesses and jobs in our City and Town Centres and to create vibrant, liveable places for our community.

These activations, including others such as parklets, temporary cycle routes and pop-up parks at Point Cook, Williams Landing, Station Place and Soho Village are all ways for the community and businesses to trial and test ideas and concepts.

Feedback, data and evidence collected during these trials and pilots helps us to guide longer term planning, design and creative use of our spaces.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Adele Hegedich said Council was thrilled the West End Experience was drawing quality performing arts groups and encouraged residents to attend.

“We’re excited to welcome The Piano Bar to the unique West End Experience currently underway,” she said.

“Drawing people out of their homes and into our public spaces this summer is part of Wyndham City’s COVID-recovery strategy.”

“Council is committed to delivering art events which are both contemporary and inclusive for all residents to enjoy.”

Creative City Portfolio Holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud added:”Last weekend, over 1600 people attended the West End Experience, indicative of the areas appetite for quality cultural events.”

“Council is very keen to support, cultivate and advance the creative industries in Wyndham.”

Managing Director of The Piano Bar group, Aaron Skinner said the group looked forward to coming to Wyndham.

“Piano Bar is the home of good times and inclusiveness and we can’t wait to bring this experience to Werribee, we’ll be showcasing what Piano Bar is all about,” he said.

“Excellent service, talented musicians and performances, it’ll be hard not to leave with a smile on your face.”

“Piano Bar Shipped will be set up in the Cultural Centre Carpark on Watton St, also with the Piano Bar Marquee.”
