Pistol seized; man charged, NSW

A man will appear in court via audio video link today after a firearm was seized in Potts Point.

Just before 1.30pm yesterday (Monday 14 October 2019), officers from Kings Cross Police Area Command were conducting high visibility patrols on Darlinghurst Road, Potts Point.

During the patrol, police observed a man walking south along Darlinghurst Road. When the man sighted police, he allegedly made several attempts to avoid interaction.

Police stopped and spoke to the 46-year-old Surry Hills man near the intersection of Darlinghurst and Bayswater Road.

Following a search, police will allege they located and seized a replica pistol.

The man was arrested and taken to Kings Cross Police Station where he was charged with possess unauthorised pistol.

He was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today (Tuesday 15 October 2019).
