Pitch Your Project looking for great community ideas

Hobsons Bay residents can turn their ideas to improve their community into reality with the opening of Pitch Your Project 2023.

Pitch Your Project gives people the chance to tell Council about projects they think would make Hobsons Bay an even better place to live, work, play and visit.

Project ideas need to deliver something for the Hobsons Bay community. They might solve a problem for a local area or be an initiative that brings people together – anything that supports Council’s vision of creating an inclusive, empowered, sustainable and visionary community.

Up to $50,000 is available to deliver each project. All submitted projects will be assessed by the team at Hobsons Bay City Council and the best ideas will be shortlisted.

The community will then vote on their favourite projects in April 2023. Selected projects will be delivered by Council in the 2023/24 financial year.

Mayor of Hobsons Bay, Cr Tony Briffa, said no one knows what would make a community better than the people who live there.

“If you’ve ever had an idea you think would make your neighbourhood better, this is your chance to tell us,” Cr Briffa said.

“Pitch Your Project is a great opportunity for anyone in Hobsons Bay – residents, community groups, sports clubs, businesses and organisations – to share their ideas that might really make a difference to the lives of people around them.

“This is a unique chance to be able to pitch that project you might have had for a while, so I encourage anyone who’s got a project in mind to come forward and pitch it to us. It would be amazing to see it become a reality.”
