South Australia Police (SAPOL), South Australia Ambulance Service (SAAS) and Burnside Village Shopping Centre will conduct a multi-agency emergency response exercise at Burnside Village today.
The exercise will be conducted after trading hours and will involve SAPOL officers, SAAS personnel, Burnside Village Centre Management, security staff, participating retailers and volunteers.
The exercise will test lockdown procedures, emergency response capabilities, casualty management and coordination between agencies during simulated incidents.
The exercise will also reinforce SAPOL’s Escape. Hide. Tell. public safety messaging, which provides guidance during an armed offender incident.
Members of the public may observe/see police vehicles, emergency services personnel and specialist police resources in the vicinity of Burnside Village during the evening.
There is no risk to the community.
