Police appeal for information after pedestrians struck by vehicle in Merrylands

Police are appealing for information after two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle in Merrylands yesterday.

About 3pm (Tuesday 28 May 2019), a black Holden Colorado was traveling south along Davies Street, Merrylands. At the intersection at Morris Street the vehicle collided with a white Toyota Corolla.

The collision caused the black utility to mount the curb, hitting two pedestrians walking along Davies Street.

The pedestrians, a 13-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl were transported to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the white Corolla, a 44-year-old female, was taken to Westmead Hospital with minor injuries.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended the location and completed an investigation of the scene.

The driver of the black Colorado, a 51-year-old man, returned a negative breath test and is assisting police with their inquiries.

Police are appealing for information from any members of the public that may have witnessed this incident. Specifically, the driver of a silver sedan that may have been at the intersection of Davies and Morris streets at the time of the crash.
