Police appeal for information after stolen vehicle involved in hit-and-run in Kensington

Police are appealing for information after a hit-and-run in a stolen vehicle in Kensington today.

Police have been told, between 5.50am and 10.50am today (Tuesday 30 November 2021), a grey Mercedes SUV with NSW registration plates NBV-80Q was reported stolen from a home at The Ponds.

Following inquiries, officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended a location in Maroubra , about 11.45am, where the vehicle was parked.

Police approached the vehicle when the driver drove from the scene.

A short time later, the SUV hit a pedestrian crossing the road on Anzac Parade, Kensington, and drove from the scene.

NSW Ambulance paramedics assisted the pedestrian – a 78-year-old man – before he was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.

The SUV was found about 12.50pm on Bunya Road, Bidwill

Inquiries into the incident continue and police are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage of the vehicle or anyone with information, to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
