Police are appealing for information following a home invasion in Wollongong last year.

About 5.30pm on Saturday 9 August 2025, police responded to reports of a break and enter at a unit in Macquarie Street, Wollongong.

Police were told a man armed with a wooden pole entered the unit and demanded money, before, striking a 41-year-old man inside.

The man threatened a 42-year-old woman and 45-year-old man also inside the unit, before he attempted to steal an electric scooter and fled the scene, empty handed.

The 41-year-old was later treated at Wollongong Hospital for a suspected broken arm.

No one else was physically injured.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.

Investigators are seeking to identify and speak with a man who was observed in the area at the time of the incident and may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, 25-30 years of age, 175-180cm, thin build, with a beard and a rats tail. He was wearing a black t shirt, black long pants and black shoes and carrying a black and white jacket.
