Police appeal for witnesses after Humevale assault

Whittlesea Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in Humevale on Wednesday.

It is alleged the 27-year-old woman was assaulted in a vehicle that was parked at the Black Saturday Bushfire Memorial on Whittlesea – Yea Road between 1 and 2pm on 6 May.

Investigators believe the occupants of a light-coloured vehicle that was parked at the memorial at the time of the incident may have witnessed the altercation and are appealing for them to come forward.

A 34-year-old Whittlesea man has since been charged with conduct endangering life, intentionally and recklessly cause injury, aggravated assault and criminal damage.

He was remanded to appear at Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on 4 June.
