Police appeal for witnesses after robbery at Southern Cross Railway Station

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following an assault and robbery at Southern Cross Railway Station last month.

Investigators have been told that the victim, a 30-year-old Melbourne man, was waiting at the Spencer Street train station about 12:45pm when he was approached by two unknown male offenders on Wednesday 26 June.

The pair assaulted the victim and stole his headphones before boarding an Upfield bound train.

They left the train at Macaulay Railway Station at about 12:54pm.

The first offender was described as being approximately 25-35 years old, Asian appearance, short black hair with a word tattooed on the left side of his forehead.

The second offender was described as being approximately 25-35 years old and of Middle Eastern appearance.

Police have released CCTV images of two men they believe will be able to assist with their enquiries.
