Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision which occurred in Bittern this evening.
Investigators have been told a car collided with a pedestrian on Frankston-Flinders Road, about 8.20pm.
Emergency crews were quickly on scene, but sadly the male pedestrian could not be revived.
The deceased is yet to be formally identified.
The female driver of the car stopped at the scene and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be established and the investigation is ongoing.
