Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Healesville this morning.
Investigators believe a car was travelling north on the Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road about 9.30am when the driver appears to have lost control and crashed into a tree.
Sadly the male driver died at the scene.
No one else was injured.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
