Police are responding to fatal crash at Strathdickie, QLD

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal crash at Strathdickie near Airlie Beach on Sunday night, August 20.

Initial information indicates just before 6.30pm, two cars collided on Strathdickie Road at the intersection with Staniland Drive.

The driver and sole occupant of one vehicle, a 67-year-old Dingo Beach man, died at the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle, a 43-year-old Riordanvale woman, was transported to the Townsville University Hospital for treatment.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Investigators urge any witnesses or anyone with relevant vision to make contact with police.
